GFL is looking for experienced Industrial Field Labourers to join our team for various short and long term shutdown projects mainly in Fort McMurray, Alberta and British Columbia. These positions will report to the Supervisors and will work together to ensure all projects are done safely and on schedule. This position offers seasonal employment starting in the spring with potential to work late into the fall with possibility of extensions.

Job Duties:

Assist the Operator with the safe operation of the various unitsAssist the Operator with the set up and control hoses attached to the pumps to ensure the safe and effective pumping of waterInstall temporary equipment (including the installation of Victaulic pipe, chemical house, mixing various chemicals)Participate in job site preparation, including the rigging in/out of equipmentSpot the safe positioning of equipmentEnsure all equipment is cleaned and storedExecute general labor duties on job sites, which include but not limited to truck cleaning, equipment packing, preparation for demobilization, and debris removal from job sitesConfined space entry to remove debris and perform detailed cleaning

Experience and Qualifications:

Class 5 license is an assetWilling and able to travel, sometimes to remote areasWillingness to take direction and work effectively in stressful situationsAbility to multitask and adapt to new working environmentsPrevious experience working in various environments (i.e. confined space, heights, noisy and various and extreme weather conditions); Industrial pulp and paper and/or oil and gas experience is also an assetSwamping experience is an asset (i.e. Vacuum and Hydrovac work)Experience working with High Pressure Water Blasting Equipment is an assetExperience working with chemicals is an asset

Working Conditions:

Willingness to participate in nightshifts and overtime is a requirementAbility to work in all weather conditions for extended periods of timeCapable of standing for long durations and able to lift up to 50 lbs
