Job Description:

Industrial Custodian 

12 hour shift (6:00 AM - 6:30 PM OR 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM) 4 on, 4 off.

Purpose of this Role/Summary

Responsibility for maintaining a clean and sanitary production facility.This role specializes in sanitation and pest control for the entire site in order to provide a clean, safe and orderly environment that exemplifies a world class manufacturing facility.

Principle Accountabilities

Responsible for assisting all areas in maintaining high levels of daily cleanliness and adherence to site GMP's.Prioritize work on a daily basis by identifying pressing issues, through communication with each operator, knowing shift production plans and awareness of area.Promote high quality team environment through effective team work and self-management with a positive attitude.Performs all assigned activities and job tasks within their areaDetailed cleaning of large areas and work spacesDetailed cleaning of large pieces of manufacturing equipmentUnderstanding of microbiological and pest control as it pertains to a food manufacturing environmentThe ability to work with all Teams at the site on Sanitation, Pest Control and Housekeeping ProjectsThe desire to work as an interactive team in a large plant settingPerform sanitation duties as required by the Master Sanitation Schedule, with particular attention to lock out/tag out procedures. Complete required documentation.Educate others on sanitation principles.Every associate at Mars has responsibility for the achievement of quality and food safety.Other duties and responsibilities throughout the plant as assigned by manager

 Physical Requirements

Must be capable of working at elevated heights.Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time.Standing on a concrete floorWearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform)Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairsForklift assignments require OSHA certification and getting on and off frequentlyAble to work with minimal supervision

Minimum Qualifications

Be 18 years of age or olderHave a High school diploma, GED or equivalent educationMust be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedulesAbility to understand and effectively communicate in the English languageAble to work with minimal supervisionExcellent written/verbal communication (English)Computer SkillsVery Good interpersonal skills, with ability to influence, motivate and work in a team environment Self-motivatedGood working knowledge of  HACCP & Food SafetyExcellent working knowledge of all production equipment, site layout, sanitation tool use and preventive maintenance.

Compensation:$1500 sign on bonusPay based on experience.Shift differential of $1.50OT potentialAnnual bonus pay outAnnual merit increases
