Reporting to the Sr Automation Engineering Manager. The Industrial Design Engineer focuses on medical device manufacturing, aiming to enhance efficiency and innovation. The role involves managing workers, improving business organization, and utilizing technology to solve production challenges. Key responsibilities include optimizing manufacturing processes, enhancing product quality, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
What a typical day looks like:
Estimating process times for quotes.Ensuring compliance with FDA and ISO standards in medical manufacturing.Simulating processes and workflows using tools like REFA, MOST, and WITNESS.Coordinating process planning for new product introductions, focusing on takt, cycle time, and labor requirements.Knowledge regulatory requirements and quality standards in manufacturing of medical devicesFamiliarity with SMT equipment and PCBA manufacturing operations.Reviewing prototyping results and providing feedback to the NPI and sales teams.Developing labor utilization standards through work measurement programs.Managing projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.Analyzing staff utilization, facility layout, and operational data to optimize efficiency.Recommending improvements to enhance worker efficiency and reduce waste.Collaborating with management and engineering teams to implement plans.Developing management systems for financial planning and job evaluation.Designing production planning and control systems to ensure product quality.Improving systems for the distribution of goods and services and optimizing plant locations.Supporting initiatives to increase throughput and improve performance in Lean, Automation, and Six Sigma projects.The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.6 -8 years’ experienceFamiliar with SMT equipment & PCBA manufacturing operationProficient with design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorksTravel national and international (up to 50% project dependentExperience in managing projects, including planning, execution, and monitoringHere are a few examples of what you will get for the great work you provide:
