Industrial Electrical Instrumentation Technician

We are currently offering a hiring/retention bonus of $1,500 to be paid out in 3 installments over 12 months

Weyerhaeuser’s Montana Wood Products is currently looking for an Industrial Electrical/ Instrumentation Technician to join our Plywood manufacturing facility in Kalispell, MT. A qualified candidate would have comprehensive knowledge of electrical equipment, processes and techniques to safely repair, modify, install and maintain the facility and high-tech manufacturing equipment. This role is an active senior position in our electrical department and will require successful candidates to assist as needed.

Key Functions

K Knowledge of NFPA 70E and ability to work safely on electrical equipment up to 480V in an industrial setting.Update and maintain documentation for instrument parameters, calibration history, and maintenance intervals.Follow plant policies and repair procedures along with insurer recommendations for removing, repairing, adjusting, and replacing components.Diagnose critical instruments per area and develop an accurate PM schedule based on asset criticality and insurer recommendations.Maintain Instrument shop spare parts inventory.Develop written instrument calibration procedures and standards.Respond and assist with electrical and instrumentation related emergency calls.Provide hands-on training on instrumentation with electrical department.Update field labeling and maintenance PM database (SAP) to include accurate device tag and channel information.Work with a team of electricians and millwrights to deliver preventative and routine maintenance.Assistother skilledworkers in repairs and projects.his may include bringing necessary tools and parts to the area they are needed.Design, layout, and installation of basic electrical controls.Basic Industrial Electrical Construction based on NFPA 70 National Electric Code. This includes the ability to layout, cut, bend and thread conduit and ability to size conductors and over current devices.Fill in on shift when scheduling constraints arise.Availability to be on call, when necessary.Our facility does not have enough instrumentation to occupy this role with purely instrumentation functions 100% of the time. Day-to-day activities may include but not limited to:Trending tags in our SCADA system to research process related issuesProvide electricians with support on trouble calls when needed. While process control knowledge is not a requirement, a successful candidate will show willingness to learn how to program/maintain HMIs, VFDs, blow down MCCs, perform thermography inspections, and other electrical maintenance tasks.Assist electric shop with process improvements and maintenance PMs.Assist electrical department with boiler shutdown activities when caught up on calibrations.
