Industrial Electrician (Up To 32/hr)
**Job Title: Electrician** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Electrician to assist with the management of our Preventive Maintenance program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scheduling, performing, or overseeing performance of maintenance tasks, logging completion electronically, and ensuring safe operations with proper tools and PPE. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment, including PLCs, reviewing and managing the installation process for new equipment, and mentoring less experienced associates. **Responsibilities** + Assist with the management of the Preventive Maintenance program. + Schedule, perform, or oversee performance of maintenance tasks and log completion electronically. + Perform work safely using proper tools and PPE. + Troubleshoot and perform repairs and maintenance on mechanical equipment. + Troubleshoot electrical and controls equipment, including PLCs. + Review new equipment and manage the installation process. + Write procedures for monitoring and preventive maintenance of equipment. + Oversee projects for installations and overhauls. + Mentor associates with less experience. **Essential Skills** + Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge. + Strong problem-solving skills and technical background. + Ability to read mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics. + Good understanding of Pneumatics and Hydraulics. + Good understanding of electrical safety. + Practical understanding of AC/DC motors. + Good judgment, diplomacy, and organizational skills. + Full understanding and practical knowledge of OSHA TAGOUT/LOCKOUT procedures. + Experience troubleshooting and making repairs to production equipment. + Knowledge of 480V systems. + Experience with ACDC motors. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + PLC experience preferred. + Strong knowledge of safe operating procedures. + Effective communication skills. + Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently. + High school level technical degree or greater. + Ability to lift 50 pounds. **Why Work Here?** Join a global supplier of commodity and engineering resins, providing cost-effective, high-quality material options to the plastics industry. The temperature in the warehouse is manageable. The position is for the first shift, working from 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with after-hours availability for breakdowns as needed. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, Virginia. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
