Job DescriptionAs an Industrial Engineer, you will have the opportunity to make an impact by:
Promoting safety as the most important value in the organization by contributing through training, process improvement and other EH&S responsibilities
Optimizing direct and indirect manufacturing labor and in-plant material flow through the use of industrial engineering methods including line balancing, time studies, as well as both in-plant and external material flow
Designing and implementing optimal station layouts that support operators
Analyzing demand forecast to estimate labor requirements
Partnering with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager to develop and execute projects that are a part of the Identifications Solutions Digital Journey
Installing the technical systems and process for the incoming and outgoing distribution process
Managing special projects; which could include supplier relationships, production performance management, sustainability, and other ad hoc projects
Setting project schedules by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and solving problems
Attending cross-divisional meetings to report out project and site progress updates
Documenting standard processes and procedures for implementation and training
Initiating, implementing and supporting new equipment and process upgrades to minimize scrap, increase productivity and improve quality
Providing support to manufacturing to resolve production and quality issues that arise on a day-to-day basis
Designing control systems to coordinate activities and production planning in order to ensure that products meet quality standards
Reducing product and process variation through the use of Six Sigma / statistical tools and the implementation or improvement of existing procedures and process controls
QualificationsTo set you up for success in this role, Avery Dennison requires the following qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in related field (Engineering, Mechanical/Industrial) or 5+ years of experience in an engineering function in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
A working knowledge of designing and implementing Warehouse Management Systems
Experience in designing warehouse automation solutions
Proficient in AutoCAD 2D for facility layout planning
Experience in troubleshooting equipment and process issues
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed in this role are as follows:
2+ years capital project management experience
Working experience in Oracle E-Business Suite R12
Working experience in ProShip
High-energy, self-directed, self-starter
Ability to execute multiple projects with minimal supervision
Ability to work comfortably in a dynamic, fast-paced, and matrixed organization
Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional groups to define and execute overall requirements
