The Industrial Engineer will provide support to Ingram Micro distribution centers. This support would include evaluation, analysis, recommendations, and implementation pertaining to assigned distribution center processes and material handling changes for configuration, kitting, assembly, reverse logistics, and fulfillment operations.

This role is responsible for developing and maintaining supply chain and logistics processes for a variety of warehousing and distribution center operations. The Industrial Engineer will also conduct special projects to achieve improved methods, optimize process flow to facilitate efficient put-away, order fulfillment, shipping, and space utilization. This role will plan, coordinate and assist with execution of redesign and redevelopment of optimal distribution center practices.

Ideal candidates will be able to analyze labor standards/cost impact of various process implementations/changes, create labor models to support the same, and identify capacity constraints. This position requires hands-on cross functional interface at all levels of the organization and distribution centers. 

Essential Functions:

Develop processes and procedures to enhance and optimize distribution center operationsConduct special projects to achieve improved methods, layout, and workflowEvaluate and develop distribution center storage practices and support re-arrangement activitiesReview, analyze, and support storage and material handling changes/implementation that increase safety, efficiency, quality, and reduce operating expenses. Support development and implementation of engineered labor standards in assigned distribution center functions and ensure reporting mechanisms to measure actual performance to standard. Provide training and support operations on the proper use of engineering labor standards for costing, staffing, and performance measurement, including labor management system.Investigate new technologies & equipment to improve efficiencies of processesSupport continuous improvement initiatives using LEAN management methodologies

What you bring to the role:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.

Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in supply chain, logistics, and/or distribution field.  Experience in fast paced, high-volume environments including multi-site operating experience strongly preferred.

Power BI with the ability to use data in a dashboard  Strong command of AutoCAD required.Advanced skills in Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, database managementKnowledge of engineering processes including engineering change control, engineering labor standards and methodologies.Certification in MOST engineering standards strongly preferred. Strong communication and analytical skillsGood interpersonal, organizational, and planning skillsAbility to work in a team environment with little supervisionProject management experience preferredKnowledge of Warehouse Management SystemsKnowledge of simulation tools a plusCertification in six sigma methodologies preferred

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $80,400.00 - $136,700.00 per year.

The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate’s primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.
