What You Will Be Doing:As the Industrial Engineer for Yancey Engineered Solutions, you will design, implement, and sustain processes and systems that improve safety, quality, and productivity. You will also work to eliminate waste of time, money, materials, energy, and other commodities. You will manage, track, and control operations as well as manage performance improvement projects.
Primary Responsibilities: Perform observation and time studies. Develop standards. Determine capacity. Assist forecasting, planning, and scheduling. Prepare budgets and financial forecasts. Collect operational data and report performance metrics. Coordinate daily operating reports and key performance indicators. Collect and aggregate daily operating data and convert to actionable insight. Monitor operations with a focus on improving productivity and reducing delay time. Implement controls to monitor costs and minimize production issues. Develop production standards in cooperation with management and personnel. Review and optimize production schedules, processes, and specifications. Evaluate data to implement operational (technical and process) improvements in production. Design facility layout and personnel requirements in relation to production operations. Help to develop instruction manuals for production personnel. Ensure that the work processes are safe and address safety issues and concerns. Generate process documentation and reports. Prepare material and equipment lists, purchase orders, cost analysis, and estimated production costs. Additional Responsibilities: Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe manner. Additional duties as assigned by manager. Who We Are Looking For:To be successful in this position you should be process oriented, show an attention to detail, and have a sense of urgency. You should have basic computer skills, be safety conscious, and have the willingness to learn. The ability to multitask, problem solve, and provide superior customer service are essential to this position as well.
Education/Experience: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Four year college degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience preferred. Required Qualifications/Skills: Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Theory of Constraints, and Root Cause Analysis. Data analytics skills and experience. Project management skills. Strong communication and presentation skills. Organizational, planning, and documentation skills. Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously.
