Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Industrial Engineer to drive the development and installation of direct and indirect labor standards and methods. The role involves tracking labor, ensuring efficient manpower utilization, and line balancing. You will conduct job ergonomics evaluations, analyze problem process constraints, and conduct equipment cycle time analysis. You will recommend the most efficient distribution of manpower and review daily employee manpower. You will also be responsible for analyzing plant methods and standards, preparing cost estimates for new or revised methods, and reviewing proposed changes in plant layout, processes, and material handling.
ResponsibilitiesDrive development and/or installation of direct and indirect labor standards and methods.Track labor, efficient manpower utilization, and line balancing.Conduct job ergonomics evaluations.Analyze problem process constraints and conduct equipment cycle time analysis.Recommend the most efficient distribution of manpower and review daily employee manpower.Analyze plant methods and standards.Prepare or direct the preparation of cost estimates for new or revised methods and standards.Review proposed changes in plant layout, processes, material handling, routing, etc.Analyze production and non-production operations to determine those requiring study and develop new or improved methods and standards.Conduct time and motion/MODAPTS studies and review employee proposals and suggestions.Develop cycle line layouts for current and future models using ACAD.Lead job methodization and process allocations.Coordinate engineering changes and planning.Conduct value stream mapping and process audits.Develop cost-saving project proposals and write projects as required.Interface with Production Supervision and the UAW to settle job disputes.Assist production in planning labor allocations for mix and line speed changes.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering.Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial engineering.Proficiency in time studies, ergonomics, factory information systems, and labor allocation.Ability to analyze and resolve issues quickly through root cause analysis and drive change back to production departments.Flexibility to rotate to various positions within the plant, such as Production or Quality.Strong customer orientation with a commitment to upholding plant processes through strict adherence to the Quality Operating System.Ability to execute and achieve results while organizing and managing multiple priorities.Willingness to take a participatory approach to union relations and be a team player.Ability to serve as a strong and confident technical mentor to the production organization (both hourly and salary).Strong written and verbal communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsN/AWork Environment
You will be working in a dynamic plant environment where you will interact with various departments, including production and quality. The role may require flexibility in job placement and rotation across different positions within the plant. You will be expected to adhere strictly to the Quality Operating System and maintain strong customer orientation. The position demands strong technical mentorship skills and effective communication with both hourly and salary staff.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00
