JOB DESCRIPTION

GENERAL NATURE OF POSITION:

As an Industrial Engineer you are responsible for Development of Labor Standards, CapEx forecasting and ROI analyses, Continuous Improvement Initiatives and Collaboration with Deckers Leadership to promote product growth in a cost effective and SLA focused manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO

Engineering (IE), Continuous Improvement (CI), or Operational Excellence (OpEx). This position emphasizes optimizing facility performance, engaging in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Key elements include:

Facility Optimization: Improving metrics, systems, safety, and quality within the Distribution Center (DC).

Collaboration: Partnering with Operations leadership to prioritize and drive improvements that benefit the customer experience.

Continuous Improvement Leadership: Creating and leading projects with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to address gaps and improve processes.

Training and Facilitation: Leading Lean training sessions and rapid improvement events to spread knowledge across the organization.

Process Analysis: In-depth analysis of complex production and processes to identify improvement opportunities.

Certifications and Audit Management: Managing compliance with audits and certifications, ensuring cycle awareness and readiness.

Green Initiatives: Supporting environmental sustainability efforts in line with corporate goals.

Safety and Efficiency: Ensuring that operations run safely and efficiently, while fostering a culture of recognition and coaching.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial or System Engineering preferred)BasicMOST CertificationLean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification is preferred

Work Experience:

5-8 years of experience in the development and implementation of pre-determined labor standards.Labor management implementation and productivity reporting5-8 years of experience in optimizing fulfillment and distribution warehouse operationsKnowledge and or working experience with automation (Autostore, Exotec, Caja)Extensive knowledge and use of AutoCADExperience writing SQL queries to extract data from WMSExcellent written and verbal communication skills in terms of being clear and conciseExperience in facility and process redesign and implementation

Strong leadership skills with the ability to positively influence others & manage change.Demonstrated ability to expedite several projects simultaneously.Knowledge of OSHA compliance fundamentals is required.Proficient in Microsoft ApplicationsExperience working effectively in complex global organizations, satisfying the needs of diverse constituents, and often working under the pressure of competing and sometimes conflicting priorities.Ability to effectively prepare and present information and respond to questions from management, clients, and other employees of the organization.Knowledgeable in current trendsExcellent verbal, written communication skills and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentExceptional attention to detailAbility to collaborate and contribute by one-self or in a team environment.
