The Industrial Engineer drives process improvement within machine processes to optimize run times and yields to understand the limits of our equipment and set standards for how the equipment needs to run to meet or exceed production targets. This is accomplished using manufacturing engineering and lean principles, driving and participating in Kaizen activities to drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements, and assisting department in improving transactional processes (i.e. Non-Conforming Material Reports, Planning, etc.).
The Industrial Engineer is part of the Pall Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering team and will be located onsite in New Port Richey, FL.
This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status, or U.S. Government export authorization is required. Any offer of employment is contingent upon Pall obtaining the necessary employment visa and export authorization, including, if required, an export license from the applicable U.S. government agency.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Work cross-functionally to drive projects for manufacturing process development, implementation, and continuous improvement to enhance Quality/Yield, reduce Cost, and improve Productivity/Schedule.
+ Reduce the number of NCMR (Non-Conforming Material Reports) on a Year-over-Year basis, to drive improved delivery and cost performance.
+ Lead teams through the Change Management cycle to gain consensus using DBS fundamentals and tools (formal Kaizens and through daily work), drive the kaizen funnel in assigned areas through use of PSP (Problem Solving Process) to identify the highest impact drivers through root cause investigation.
+ Drive process improvement through tools including Variation Reduction, Standard Work, Quality Systems Basics, Design for Quality/Manufacturability, PFMEA, DFMEA, etc. Gather Voice of Customer (VOC) data to ensure alignment and application.
+ Travel domestically (US) and/or internationally up to 20%
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering plus five (5) years working as an engineer in a manufacturing environment
+ Experience utilizing and leading the application of Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, continuous improvement methodologies, project management, root cause analysis, and corrective action activities.
+ Understanding of work measurement techniques such as predetermined motion time systems (PMTS), work sampling, and direct time study. Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and interpretation to support decision-making.
+ Familiarity in developing layout designs for equipment and workspace to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Physical/Environment Requirements:
+ Frequent lifting up to 35 pounds. Lift up to 50 pounds with assistance. Lifting frequency: Daily. Able to load parts using hand tools. Stand for long time periods (for a minimum of 9 hours or more); frequently twist and bend.
+ Pass basic eye test. Good eye and hand dexterity.
+ Be able to work with solvents, oils, and other chemicals.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Variation Reduction
+ CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for designing and analyzing manufacturing systems.
+ Predetermined time systems such as MTM (Methods-Time Measurement) or MOST (Maynard Operation Sequence Technique).
