Industrial Engineer - Retail Stores
Job Description

The Industrial Engineer, Retail Stores position is a key component of the Store Labor and Productivity team, supporting Store Operations. The candidate engages in the development and maintenance of an accurate and effective labor model for all stores. A Store Industrial Engineer (IE) will have proficiency in the development of engineered labor standards and/or other time measurement techniques. This position requires knowledge in Lean techniques and business process optimization assessments. The role engages in ongoing labor modeling activities, including the use of forecasting techniques and validation, in-store time studies and process documentation. The IE provides critical analysis of store operations, sales and staffing, to determine optimal labor needs on a weekly basis. Strength in data analytics and operational and financial measures are a must. An understanding of workforce scheduling systems is expected.

This position is HYBRID (4 days/week in office) for candidates residing in Raleigh, NC. Candidates located in Roanoke, VA will also be considered on a remote basis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Maintain and consistently update labor standardsCreate and maintain standard work across all store processes and workflowsLead and perform the analysis, recommendation, and implementation of enhancements to existing work methods flows and processes to decrease task work and provide capacity for increased salesAnalysis of store labor and performance metric development and evaluationUnderstanding of workforce scheduling tools such as Zebra/ReflexisUnderstanding of forecasting techniques and approaches to analysis of outputsLead the collection of data and best practice training methods to assist in the development of SOPsSkill in the process of examining data sets in order to find trends and draw conclusions about the information they containThe ability to assess the current business processes and systems and apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to enhance the current state and anticipate future developmentHelp with the analysis and cost justification on capital project requests when neededDevelop and monitor weekly store performance tools for productivity measuresIdentify and implement store process improvements that improve productivity and reduce cost

EDUCATION AND OR EXPERIENCE

Undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations, or Analytics. Field experience through Internships, Co-Ops, or Industry a plus. Related experience in store operations analysis and project implementations will be considered. Lean or Six sigma experiences a plus.
