Rate of Pay:            The salary range for this position in New York, NY is $130,000 - $176,000 per year and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. Duties: Ensure that production operations are ready to go at the scheduled start of production effectively utilizing lean methodologies to meet or exceed performance standards. Work directly with vehicle manufacturing groups like carshell, finishing, and assembly in defining and optimizing plant layout. Responsible for the support of future locations and ensure successful ramp ups, on-going production and continuous improvement. Align with the team on safety and delivery goals. Ensure that adequate space and infrastructure are in place in preparation for new project or product launch. Implement business cases for capital expenditures such as new tools, equipment, or infrastructure (e.g. new buildings, new finishing booths, new cranes) based on review and analysis of future backlog or improvement of current infrastructure. Prepare future production floor layouts to meet planned task time and schedule. Drive the team’s tasks and project plans by guiding and following up. Utilize permitting requirements, foundation requirements, and other regulatory requirements when implementing infrastructure changes. Review engineering drawings, 3D models using Pro-E or PTC Creo to gain an understanding of manufacturing process requirements such as job sequence, workflow, and task time. Design/source tools, templates, jigs and fixtures using engineering requirements, engineering drawings, or products already existing on the production floor without prints. Responsible for the manufacturing improvements, complex process changes, and technology changes including reporting to a steering committee, projecting efforts involved with implementation, and identifying impacts to the business in dollars and hours. Coordinate and communicate technical information to and from all levels of the organization including vendors, project managers, production team members, and operations managers. 

Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field and 36 months of experience in the job offered or in a Manufacturing Engineering-related occupation. Position requires experience in the following: Utilizing firm project management skills, including developing project plans, timelines, schedules, budgets, proposed layouts, resource requirements, and calculating ROI; Utilizing Lean toolbox and lean principles to reduce waste; Rolling out of new process or equipment; Ramping up of new manufacturing processes/areas; Use of AutoCAd, Creo or other Engineering CAD software; Development of Workplans, routings and methods to document manufacturing process; Specification of machines, Jigs and tools for 3rd party vendors in coordination with procurement team. Less than 10% travel is required. Telecommuting permitted pursuant to company policy.
