The Industrial Engineer Intern will collaborate with our Regional Continuous Improvement team and the COMS (Creation Operations Management System) Leader at the site. Work is guided by detailed instructions, routines, procedures, and clear goals. Works under close assistance and receives detailed instructions and priorities on specific projects. May work autonomously and proactivity identify and escalate potential challenges that may be out of the project scope to receive appropriate support.
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to:
Actively participate in Continuous Improvement activities and initiativesExecution and participation in defined strategic projectsIn real time process observationHands on participation of countermeasures and process changesHands on process validationNPI (New Product Integration) hands on participationLayout distribution, hands on validation, improvement, and updatesDesign, develop and implement new tools, systems and/or reports to visualize KPI’s in real timeParticipate in manufacturing process quality improvements by identifying and reducing the key cost of poor-quality contributors.QUALIFICATIONS:
Current College Student in either a 2-year or 4-year program, preferable related to Engineering/Manufacturing, who have completed at least 1 year of their program.Basic industrial engineering knowledge, including but not limited to, understanding of the elements of OEE, Standardized Work Instructions, VSM (Value Stream Map), Production Line Balancing, and takt-time definition and Cycle Time analysis.Familiar with 5s methodologyGood English communication skills, both written and verbalStrong time management skills, Attention to detail, and ability to be a team playerBasic understanding of Computer Systems such as Excel, Power Point and Visio, as well as AutoCAD, Draftsight or similar.INTERNSHIP BENEFITS:

This position works in an office environment with significant time spend out on the manufacturing floor. Will be required to wear safety clothing and gears while working in safety sensitive areas.
