Industrial Hygiene/Building Science Technician

**Job Summary**
We are seeking an Industrial Hygiene/Building Science Technician to work closely with our team in assessing indoor air quality, conducting building investigations, and implementing environmental health and safety programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial hygiene, building science, and environmental health practices.
**Requirements:**
+ Bachelor of Science Degree Preferred
+ 2-5 years of experience in field work relating to hazardous building materials, indoor air quality, and industrial hygiene services.
+ Additional experience in lieu of degree considered.
+ Must have a valid Driver’s License, ability to pass a Driver Background Check, and have reliable transportation.
+ Ability to pass a Background Check for work with state and local governments along with defense contractor clients.
+ Ability to climb stairs/ladders and lift up to 50 pounds.
+ Must be able to wear a respirator, safety harness, and other personal protective equipment, as required.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
**Technical Requirements:**
+ NY Asbestos Project Monitor License Required.
+ NY Asbestos Inspector License Required.
+ Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor preferred.
+ NY Mold inspector license preferred.
+ Microsoft Office experience required.
+ Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations applicable to mold, asbestos, lead, indoor air quality and/or industrial hygiene services preferred.
**Other Miscellaneous Qualities:**
+ Ability to travel locally 90% of the time.
+ Ability to occasionally work nights/weekends, as needed.
+ Ability to work independently and with a team.
+ Effective time management skil• Collect bulk, surface, water, and air samples in accordance with established methods and/or regulatory requirements.
+ Operate and maintain testing equipment and instruments including air-sampling pumps, real-time air monitoring equipment, moisture meters, IR cameras, and calibrators.
+ Perform industrial hygiene, indoor air quality, water intrusion, mold, asbestos, lead, and other building science related assessments in various settings.
+ Complete field data sheets and chain of custody forms and prepare samples for shipment to laboratory.
+ Interact and communicate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agency representatives in a professional manner.
+ Effectively communicate with direct supervisor and other Atlas team members in a professional manner.
+ Read and understand project specifications, sampling methodologies, and building drawings.
+ Prepare reports for senior review.
+ Perform work in a timely manner and within the time and budget constraints of the project.
+ Abide by Atlas' health and safety policies and procedures.
+ Approval to drive a company car or rental vehicles – valid Driver’s License, pass background check.
+ Ability to occasionally work off-hours and weekends (10 – 20% of time).
+ Out-of-state travel is typically less than 20% but may be higher at times.
**Compensation:**
$20.00 - $30.00 an Hour
The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
