Job SummaryLangan is seeking an Industrial Hygienist to join its collaborative team in Dallas, TX. As the successful candidate, you will have an enthusiastic, can-do attitude with experience in performing and leading industrial hygiene assessments including chemical exposure monitoring, noise monitoring and dosimetry, ergonomics, determining SEGs, developing conclusions and writing reports under supervision of senior industrial hygienists and CIHs. Possession of a strong technical education, professional demeanor, and entrepreneurial mindset is essential. The ideal candidate will also have the desire to help firsthand with building a rapidly growing practice group.
Job Responsibilities Inspect and assess environmental and workplace hazards and develop and implement strategies to control or eliminate occupational hazards; Anticipating and planning for potential hazards and exposure risks, recommend mitigative control measures, assist with implementing control measures, assess effectiveness of those control measures, and document outcomes; Advising and training clients on best management practices for protection against hazards; Researching the health effects of measured or anticipated exposures to hazardous materials; Evaluating workforce job duties and identifying similar exposure groups (SEGs); Have knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and occupational health association published exposure limits and evaluate jobsite findings with those and provide recommendations for mitigative measures; Analyze the project site and implement high-quality solutions to both routine and more complex field and/or laboratory problems; Prepare proposals by incorporating scientific knowledge to determine cost estimates and specifications for abatement/remediation services; Conduct environmental sampling of soils, water, dust, and indoor air as needed; and Perform other duties as requested. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health or similar health and safety-related field; 2+ years of experience performing industrial hygiene work; Experience with hazardous building materials surveys and abatement/remediation monitoring experience (asbestos, lead-based paint, and PCBs); CIH preferred but not required; Experience with interfacing with clients and their staff/employees, preparing proposals, researching various industrial hygiene and safety issues, conducting field work, writing reports, designing abatement or remedial solutions; Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver's license in good standing.Langan provides a rich array of programs and benefits to help its employees advance their careers and enhance the quality of their lives.
