Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Our client, a gourmet baking manufacturing company, is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic to join their team in New Brunswick, NJ. In this role, you will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on all plant equipment. This position offers a competitive pay range of $25.00 to $32.00 per hour and requires availability from Monday to Friday, with flexibility for weekends.

Responsibilities:

Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements (both planned and unplanned) on production, packaging, and processing equipment. Be readily available for emergency repairs in breakdown situations.Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance and services.Perform preventive maintenance.Complete work orders in a timely manner while maintaining high quality standards.Utilize a continuous improvement mindset, assisting in identifying opportunities to improve processes.Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.Observe all safety and lockout/tagout rules.Perform other general mechanical duties as needed.Maintain communication with other departments, management, and employees to notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.

Qualifications:

Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Work often involves walking or standing for brief periods.High School Diploma or GED preferred. Formal Engineering/Maintenance Training desired.A minimum of two years of experience with one or more technical specialties: electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, computer-controlled equipment, PLC, and HVAC.Ability to inspect equipment, recognize potential problems, and independently take appropriate corrective action to prevent component failures or equipment downtime.Frequently required to operate machinery and repetitively grasp objects simply and firmly, using manipulation dexterity, i.e., forklift. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electrical meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.Must be willing to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.Ability to meet commitments, work independently, accept accountability, handle change, stay focused under pressure, and meet attendance/punctuality requirements.

Pay and Shift:

Shift: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (flexibility required, including weekends)Pay Rate: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
