Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

The opportunity:
The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic will have complete involvement in routine or emergency maintenance as well as corrective, preventive, predictive maintenance and basic care for all mechanical equipment and its related components within a manufacturing industrial environment. The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is expected to have basic electrical knowledge, i.e. the ability to swap out like for like replacement of motors.
How you will impact Smurfit WestRock:
* Performs preventive maintenance procedures on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment on a scheduled basis; Inspects belts, gearboxes, chains, bearings, etc.
* Performs repairs on all related equipment with minimal supervision.
* Testing of analog devices, scaling and calibrations required regularly.
* Troubleshooting of low voltage circuits, analog devices, VFD's, and motor control circuitry to obtain a root cause of failures.
* Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, and devices to determine faults, and failures.
* Regular repair and maintenance required in non-production areas including the warehouse, design lab, building, and grounds.
* Uses CMMS system for work order implementation, recordkeeping of daily activities, and planned projects.
What you need to succeed:
* Ability to work safely, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and comply with all safety regulations
* The ideal candidate will have mechanical and electrical experience, a familiarity with hydraulics
* and pneumatics and have basic troubleshooting experience with proven ability of machine repair.
* \u2022 2-3 years of Electro-Mechanical Automation System Installation & Troubleshooting Experience
* Experience with PLC's processors, and ladder logic - primarily Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Omron.
* Familiar with NFPA 70E standards and be capable of applying these standards in the work situation.
* Boiler/Steam knowledge, and/or certification is a plus.
* Flexibility to work 2nd or 3rd shifts; required to work daily overtime and weekends, as needed.
* Consistent and regular attendance is required.
* High school diploma or equivalent. Technical school preferred.
