\r\nPosition Summary:
\r\nThis position is responsible for operating, monitoring, and providing preventive maintenance to the refrigeration system.
\r\nEssential Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities:
\r\nMonitor the refrigeration system to include compressors, components, condensers, air units, and air conditioning units, and perform preventive maintenance and repair as scheduled.
\r\nBasic troubleshooting, repair/PM of all refrigeration and ice conveying equipment in plant and freezer areas.
\r\nAbility to start up equipment during pre-shift, such as an ice maker and chillers.
\r\nElectrical troubleshooting on process and refrigeration equipment.
\r\nComplete the paperwork and logs as required.
\r\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
\r\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment.
\r\nBasic math skills required.
\r\nAbility to take accurate measurements and maintain paperwork throughout shift.
\r\nAbility to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions & policies.
\r\nAccountable to maintain punctual and regular attendance for scheduled work hours.
\r\nMust be able to work in a team atmosphere.
\r\nMust be willing and able to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
\r\nMust be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
\r\nMust pass a background check, drug screen and pre-employment physical.
\r\nSome positions may require the ability to read, write, and/or speak English.
\r\nPhysical Requirements:
\r\nStanding (8 hours a day or more)
\r\nLifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling (up to and including 50lbs or more).
\r\nOperating handheld and/or mechanical machinery.
\r\nWalking/climbing stairs and ladders. Gripping, grasping, and twisting using hands and wrists.
\r\nBending and stooping for long periods of time.
\r\nAbility to wear respirator and/or work in confined spaces.
\r\nWorking Conditions/Department Description:
\r\nAbility to work in extreme temperature conditions, some below -20 degrees.
\r\nPreventive maintenance is often scheduled on plant down days or Saturdays.
\r\nThere is mandatory seasonal work for approximately 5 to 6 weeks during the months of October and November, which includes working 7 days per week.
\r\nJob assignments are subject to the supervisor’s discretion, and job duties may vary day-to-day depending on department needs.
\r\nMay work in damp, cold, hot, and warm environments, and some jobs work in seasonal outdoor conditions.
\r\nWork with loud and noisy machinery and with or around chemicals/fumes/pungent odors.
