**Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician** **Job Description** Under the general supervision of the Mine and/or Surface Maintenance Manager or the direct supervision of the Mine and/or Surface Supervisor, the Industrial Maintenance Technician performs extensive troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, repairs, and construction work in the mine and on the surface. The candidate must pass a maintenance proficiency test. **Responsibilities** + Troubleshoot equipment and apply best practices to repair and maintain mining equipment. + Interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. + Communicate the status of assigned jobs with relieving shift mechanics and shop supervisors. + Perform painting and carpentry work. + Assist others of higher classification and direct the work of others in making repairs to mine machinery. + Interpret construction and installation instructions, read blueprints, and apply shop mathematics. + Perform routine tasks such as greasing, oiling, cleaning, and inspecting equipment with minimal supervision. + Work with and assist Mechanic Technician or Electrician on various tasks, including dismantling and reassembly of machinery, vertical welding, and installing sheet metal piping. + Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly working area and tools in good repair. + Perform other related tasks as directed. **Essential Skills** + Over two years of general shop experience and training or through a training program. + Ability to pass the Lyons Mechanic’s test with at least 70% correct answers. + Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. + Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. + High degree of attention to prevent injury and promote a safe workplace. + Ability to work safely in varying temperatures in mine workplaces and outside year-round. + Ability to lift and carry up to 65 pounds regularly and 100 pounds occasionally. + Ability to wear steel-toed shoes and safety glasses. + Ability to work overtime as necessary. + Ability to work at heights as required. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Safety consciousness. + Mining and MSHA experience preferred but not required. + Ability to pass an ATF explosives experience check for mine work. + Ability to work on the surface or underground in the mine. + Ability to work 2nd shift (1:30 pm – 9:30 pm), with potential for overtime and weekend work. **Why Work Here?** Our company offers longevity and a solid reputation, providing a stable and secure work environment. Safety gear such as steel-toed shoes and safety glasses are required, and employees must be prepared to work at heights and handle physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and climbing. **Job Type & Location** This is a Permanent position based out of Lyons, Kansas. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $58032.00 - $58032.00/yr. 401K, Medical, Dental, and Vision offered. 1 week first year and 2 weeks at year 2. Great offerings outside of the normal and PTO package with major Holidays are paid as well.
