Job Description

The Maintenance Engineering team is responsible for establishing equipment maintenance procedures and solving technical problems related to manufacturing equipment, as well as executing process improvement efforts. The Maintenance Technician will engage in the repair and improvement of manufacturing and facilities equipment and processes, troubleshoot manufacturing and building system problems, and organize or complete repairs.

ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot manufacturing and building system problems and organize or complete repairs.Assist Maintenance Technicians on complex troubleshooting issues.Determine the root cause of failures and develop processes or strategies to prevent reoccurring failures.Develop preventative maintenance procedures to help prevent equipment downtime.Drive continuous improvement efforts.Lead reliability efforts by analyzing data and driving long-term solutions and processes.Advise the supervisor of needs for outside services and work with service representatives on equipment.Plan and lead projects and execute assignments.Support production team with equipment support and/or training.Work with vendors to locate and order parts and materials required for repairing equipment.Communicate effectively with internal customers regarding the status of equipment in the building.Interact with employees in all functions at all levels in the organization.Use a variety of lock-out/tag-out devices as required per plant LOTO Plan.Ability to work in parallel with other Engineers inside and outside of the Maintenance Department.Essential SkillsExperience with PLC troubleshooting, including hooking up a laptop.Experience troubleshooting variable frequency drives, photo eyes, sensors, and other electrical components.Experience with mechanical maintenance including conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics, and hydraulics.Ability to troubleshoot and repair manufacturing and building systems.Proficiency in developing preventative maintenance procedures.Strong communication skills to interact with internal customers and team members.Experience with lock-out/tag-out devices.Ability to work collaboratively with other Engineers.Additional Skills & QualificationsProficient in reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints.Experience with industrial PLC control and electrical troubleshooting.Knowledge of three-phase motors and maintenance repair.Ability to install and maintain conveyor systems.Proficient in using power tools and fabrication equipment.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Openings are available on 2nd and 3rd shifts. The 2nd shift runs from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and the 3rd shift runs from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, South Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
