**Job Title: Mechanic** **Job Description** As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for installing and rebuilding pumps, compressors, clutches, and gear boxes. You will test marine engines and equipment to determine the need for repairs or adjustments, and repair and maintain hydraulic equipment and valves. You will operate hand and power tools associated with marine engine and equipment repair, install and align shafting, pumps, engines, rudders, and steering gears, and remove and install propellers, bearings, and shafting. Additionally, you will install and repair minor electrical systems, preserve and coat the exterior and interior of vessels, and travel to outlying ports as needed (approximately 20% travel). **Responsibilities** + Install and rebuild pumps, compressors, clutches, and gear boxes. + Test marine engines and equipment to determine the need for repairs or adjustments. + Repair and maintain hydraulic equipment and valves. + Operate hand and power tools associated with marine engine and equipment repair. + Install and align shafting, pumps, engines, rudders, and steering gears. + Remove and install propellers, bearings, and shafting. + Install and repair minor electrical systems. + Preserve and coat the exterior and interior of vessels. + Travel to outlying ports as needed (estimated 20% travel). + Perform other maintenance duties as directed. **Essential Skills** + 3-5 years of mechanical troubleshooting experience (e.g., diesel tech, millwright, pump technician, heavy auto mechanic). + Aptitude with hand and power tools and tape measures/basic math. + Knowledge of hydraulic systems. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Engine repair experience. + Boat maintenance experience. **Why Work Here?** Our client offers a stable business environment where layoffs are uncommon, and the business is growing.
