Industrial Mechanic

Job Summary: An Industrial Mechanic builds large arrays of equipment utilizing technical drawings and power hand tools. An Industrial Mechanic will typically work on a job from start to finish. Education: • High School Diploma or GED • Technical certifications or related training. Essential Functions: • Math skills - adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and working with fractions. • Able to read measuring devices - rulers, tape measures, squares, levels, Vernier’s and formulas. • Able to read and comprehend mechanical and electrical drawings. • Able to braze and MIG weld. • Maintain a safe working environment for oneself and co-workers at all times. • Perform general housekeeping as required. • Regular in attendance and able and willing to work a reasonable amount of overtime. • Willing to attend classes/training to improve basic skills and non-essential functions. • Will handle miscellaneous duties as assigned. Non-Essential Functions: • Able to drive an overhead crane, forklift and electric pallet truck. • Able to TIG weld. Essential Physical Requirements: • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. • Able to see, have good perception, and distinguish between colors. • Able to stand, climb, and bend for 8-10 hours. • Have good strength and be able to lift up to 51 lbs. • Quick hand and arm movement, or the movement of both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. • Listen to and understand information presented through spoken words and sentences. • Communicate information and ideas, both written and verbally so others will understand. • Have valid driver's license and able to drive an automobile. • Able to travel on short notice by public transportation including (i.e.: aircrafts, trains, bus, cars) domestically and internationally.
