This position is expected to be a field assignment based out of Combined Cycle Power Plant in Azuela, Brazil. The location of the assignment can vary depending on the job and/or client. We do offer per diem for those that qualify.
Position Overview: The Industrial Mechanical and GE Turbine Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of the Turbines and associated mechanical systems within our client's combined cycle power plant. The successful candidate will have expertise in mechanical engineering, particularly in the design, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of GE Turbines systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical Systems SupportOversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of all Mechanical systems to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability.Conduct routine inspections, performance evaluations, and troubleshooting of components and associated equipment.Implement preventive maintenance programs and develop maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.Provide technical support and expertise in the design, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment.Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to identify and implement improvements in mechanical systems and processes.Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards, codes, and regulations in all mechanical operations and maintenance activities.Training and Development:Develop and deliver training programs for plant operators and maintenance personnel on all mechanical system operations, maintenance, and safety procedures.Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to GE Turbines and mechanical engineering to enhance plant performance and reliability.Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, engineering, and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment), to achieve plant objectives and targets.Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, contractors, and external vendors to coordinate activities, resolve issues, and ensure seamless operations. The following skills, experience, and qualifications are required:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field, or similar mechanical trades experience.Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial mechanical engineering, with a focus on Mechanical equipment systems and combined cycle power plants.Strong knowledge of GE Turbine design, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.Proficiency in using engineering software, tools, and diagnostic equipment.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Fluent in Portuguese and English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.Sargent & Lundy is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
