Job Description

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: 

Directly supervise plant activities while on shift Performs all job duties safely and effectively and ensures crew is adhering to Company safety and environmental policies Load and unload various raw materials, finished goods, and lime products onto/from trucks, railway cars, or barges Operate crusher and conveying systems to produce a quality product Must be able to measure product silos and bins Perform routine inspection and cleaning of various equipment Must be able to read instruments, log numbers and problems into computer Reports deficiencies and malfunctions to management Perform cleaning of Hydrate and plant equipment  Must be able to remove tailings      Move materials within a warehouse or storage facility to and from the loading platform by carrying, pushing, rolling, or operating hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, motorized conveyors, or other materials handling equipment Pack finished product by bagging and palletizing by hand  Use heavy equipment and operate machines to complete duties or to fill in for personnel vacancies Perform basic preventive maintenance on machines and equipment Supports a team atmosphere with the ability to adapt to changing environments Other duties as assigned by management

 

Required Skills

Qualified candidates will have:

High School Diploma or GED 2+ years supervisory experience 2+ years of raw material loading experience in an industrial manufacturing environment Knowledge of mechanical equipment operation and maintenance  Willing and able to work rotating shifts

 

Language Skills: 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively with other employees of the organization; 

 

Math Skills:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance;

 

Reasoning Ability: 

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations;

 

Physical Demands: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, frequently required to walk and occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus; 

 

Work Environment: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; in outside weather conditions; and with explosives and is frequently exposed to wet and or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, petroleum products, toxic or caustic chemicals, petroleum products, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
