Industrial Painter

The Industrial Painter will be responsible for handling glass through the paint process including painting glass, running and cleaning paint machines, and rebuilding guns and pumps used for painting. This position will inspect painted/fabricated glass to discover any discrepancies or diminishing properties of product and make corrections as needed.

 

Schedule: Monday-Friday: 6a-2:30p

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Applying proprietary adhesion properties to tempered glass for paint bonding  Utilizing machines and other equipment to paint glass including running and cleaning machines/equipment Carefully processing glass through infrared bake oven  Operating glass washer, and maintaining schedule queue as glass moves through the conveyor line Following daily square footage/production schedule  Proper tagging and interpretation of work order through paint line(s); Accountable for assisting in the proper loading and unloading of glass products onto the paint lines Accountable for inspection of spray booths and spray guns to ensure they pass quality control standards. If defects are noted, report this information to lead person or supervisor Accountable for basic equipment maintenance; spray gun rebuilds, filter changes, cleaning, pump, or hoses, etc. Responsible for assisting in the proper preparation of the painted components for application of paint Accountable for assisting in the proper mixing of paints and coatings, responsible for mixing of cleaning and preparation materials Accountable for the application of paint and all applicable material to assure a quality paint job Assists in assuring that all components to be prepped and painted are grouped with similar parts in order to maximize downtime and increase efficiency Provide high level of productivity to assure quality finished product and accuracy in Quality Assurance program Prior Paint experience required in an industrial environment such as automotive, manufacturing, or cabinetry Knowledge of Industrial painting and coatings applications Experience with automatic spray-painting machine using PLC operated, pneumatic spray gun Experience running and cleaning paint machines, guns, pumps, and other equipment Must be capable of standing for a long periods of time Must be capable of lifting > 50lbs repeatedly throughout shift  Must be punctual and dependable with excellent attendance High School Diploma or GED required

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position works in a glass manufacturing plant working with glass, paint, and production machines.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
