Job Description

We are seeking a skilled painter to join our team, responsible for the painting, preparation, and detailing of kit airplanes. This role involves industrial painting, paint preparation, and the use of spray guns, sanding, and other related tasks to ensure the highest quality finish for our aircraft.

ResponsibilitiesPrime and paint aircraft surfaces using single-stage and two-stage systems.Spray high-build primer on fiberglass surfaces in preparation for painting.Sand or scuff aircraft surfaces in preparation for priming.Prep aircraft surfaces for prime and paint (wipe, blow, tack).Mask aircraft surfaces that are not to be painted using tape, paper, and plastic.Locate, apply, and paint decals as specified by drawings.Locate and apply permanent vinyl decals to aircraft surfaces.Perform touchups as required to ensure the highest quality of the product.Clean pots and guns after each application.Read reference sheets that show paint schemes and colors.Maintain paint levels and order paint for each aircraft paint job.Maintain a clean and organized work area.Periodically clean the paint booth and replace booth filters to eliminate dust and debris.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsExperience with priming and painting aircraft surfaces using single-stage and two-stage systems.Proficiency in spraying high-build primer on fiberglass surfaces.Ability to sand or scuff aircraft surfaces in preparation for priming.Skill in prepping aircraft surfaces for prime and paint (wipe, blow, tack).Experience with masking aircraft surfaces using tape, paper, and plastic.Ability to locate, apply, and paint decals as specified by drawings.Proficiency in applying permanent vinyl decals to aircraft surfaces.Experience performing touchups to ensure product quality.Knowledge of cleaning pots and guns after each application.Ability to read reference sheets showing paint schemes and colors.Skill in maintaining paint levels and ordering paint for jobs.Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.Experience cleaning paint booths and replacing booth filters.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in industrial painting and paint preparation.Proficiency in using spray guns, sanding, and other related equipment.Ability to work in a dynamic aviation environment, including hangars and restricted spaces.Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.Capability to wear and be fitted for a respirator.Why Work Here?

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aurora, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00
