About the role

The Maintenance Mechanic is a skilled worker in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining all components of diesel and gasoline engine-driven heavy trucks, construction equipment, and complex hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.

If hired the training will take place in Hodgkins for a minimum of 4 weeks.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma/GED preferredValid driver’s licenseMust be able to lift 50 lbsMust be dependable and on timeOwn means of dependable transportationProvide some personal tools/list available on request2 years minimum experience in a petro/chemical industryMust be able to work in adverse/inclement weather conditionsMust have the ability to troubleshoot, then make a good decision to fix the problemMust be able to read a tape measure and work with precision measuring instruments

Local travel required - Will be required to provide help at both Hodgkins and Gary locations

Required to have personal tools

Responsibilities & Duties:

Performs maintenance/repairs/troubleshooting and installation on the following process plant equipment, but not limited to: pumps, motors, gear drives, centrifuges and other rotating equipment with an emphasis on seals, bearings and mechanical sealsPerforms maintenance, repair and troubleshooting on rotary screw air compressorsRemoval and installation of process valvesPerforms m/r/t on steam boilers and auxiliary equipmentMetal fabrication skills are requiredMust be proficient in the installation and fabrication of process piping systems, pertaining to threading, welding and soldering.Must be able to interpret P&ID drawingsElectricity skills are a PLUS.When instructed - you will be required to clean, paint and perform labor workAdditional work related to buildings and ground maintenance
