**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** **Description:** The infection prevention practitioner plans, develops and implements a coordinated Infection Control Program for Samaritan Hospital and Burdett Care Center. The program includes surveillance programs, data reporting, data analysis and intervention development aimed at reduction of healthcare acquired infections in patients and employees. Responsible for meeting CMS, OSHA and New York State Department of Health requirements **Job Title:** Infection Control Practitioner, full-time day, St Peters Hospital **Description:** The infection prevention practitioner plans, develops and implements a coordinated Infection Control Program for Samaritan Hospital. The program includes surveillance programs, data reporting, data analysis and intervention development aimed at reduction of healthcare acquired infections in patients and employees. Responsible for meeting CMS, OSHA and New York State Department of Health requirements Demonstrates leadership skills in the infection control program development, including the development of hospital-wide policies and procedures. Demonstrates skills in planning and program evaluation. Provides cost analysis and recommendations to senior management on products/equipment utilized organization-wide for control of hospital associated infection, as well as safety devices to prevent exposures to blood borne pathogens. Serves as an advisor to the Infection Control Committee and senior management in assisting them to fulfill their infection control program oversight responsibilities. **Requirements:** + Monday through Friday Position, no weekends or holidays + BS degree in Nursing or health related field required. + Minimum 4-7 years clinical experience required. + Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred **Pay Range:** $33.10-$48.00 $29.23-$43.49 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
