Overview Infection Preventionist Good Samaritan University Hospital is a 537- bed (including 100 nursing home beds) teaching hospital and a member of Catholic Health. Job Details Responsibilities will include: • Under minimal supervision and according to established guidelines, will conduct surveillance activities as outlined in the organizational Infection Prevention and Control Plan and identify and report hospital acquired infections mandated by regulatory agencies as well as reportable diseases and conditions. • Responsibilities will also include participation in educational programs as well as providing consultative services to all levels of the organization regarding infection prevention and control standards and practices and analyze and trend data collected to assist in planning initiatives that are compatible with organizational needs. • Will have knowledge of departmental policies, regulatory requirements, such as, State Education Department, Department of Health, OSHA, and NHSN definitions. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree, required. Master's Degree, preferred. • Current license in New York State as a Registered Nurse or Medical Technologist. Must maintain a commitment to continuing professional development and obtain Infection Prevention certification within 3 years. Infection Prevention certification, preferred. • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point, required. Must be flexible and able to work in a fast paced team environment. Necessary to pay attention to detail without being easily distracted. Must be flexible with time assignment and accommodate the needs of the department. Must possess demonstrated leadership abilities, such as, problem solving, team building techniques, effective communication skills, organization and time management. • Infection Prevention experience, preferred. Minimum 3 years current hospital experience with demonstrated commitment to professionalism and confidentiality. Salary Range USD $113,000.00 - USD $126,750.00 /Yr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
