In this vital role, you will play a key part in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our patients, staff, and visitors by conducting targeted infection surveillance activities and responding effectively to infection outbreaks.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough infection surveillance activities to identify, investigate, and respond to infection outbreaks among patients and staff. Develop and implement effective preventative measures to control and minimize infections. Educate and train healthcare personnel on best practices for infection prevention and control, ensuring adherence to established protocols. Ensure compliance with recommendations and standards set by regulatory and accrediting agencies to uphold the highest standards of care.Why Join IU Health?

Qualifications:
Associates degree or higher. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Knowledge of nursing and medical procedures; medical and environmental microbiology; infectious disease; epidemiology; asepsis and immunology preferred. Requires knowledge of local; state; and national regulations and standards and their impact on infection control. National certification in infection control preferred within 3 years from date of hire. 3-5 years experience in healthcare or related field is preferred.
