We have an exciting opportunity for an Infection Preventionist to join our team at IU Health Saxony in Fishers, IN.

Position Overview:
The Infection Preventionist plays a crucial role in safeguarding patient and staff health by conducting targeted infection surveillance activities. This includes investigating and responding to outbreaks of infections among patients and personnel. In this role, you will also recommend and educate staff on effective preventative measures to control infections and ensure compliance with guidelines set by regulatory and accrediting agencies.

Shift: Day Shift, Monday-FridayPrimary Location: IU Health Saxony, with possible coverage responsibilities at IU West and IU North.

Qualifications:

Associates degree or higher.Knowledge of nursing and medical procedures; medical and environmental microbiology; infectious disease; epidemiology; asepsis and immunology preferred.Requires knowledge of local; state; and national regulations and standards and their impact on infection control.National certification in infection control preferred within 3 years from date of hire.3-5 years experience in healthcare or related field is preferred. Prior experience in infection control preferred.Process improvement or project management experience preferred.
