Responsibilities The Informatics Coordinator & Outpatient Services Infection Preventionist works with the Infection Prevention team to identify, investigate, monitor, and report healthcare-associated infections in the acute and outpatient settings. Works directly with data and clinical information systems including but not limited to Microsoft Office applications, TheraDoc, Bugsy, and EPIC to ensure comprehensive, timely data collection and reporting to internal partners and external payers for all Garnet Health locations. Will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to assist in development and implementation of infection prevention strategies, provide feedback, and sustain infection prevention strategies for all Garnet Health locations but with specific attention to the outpatient services areas including surgical/procedural services, and Garnet Health Doctors locations (urgent care, primary care, and specialty care services). Will help to achieve process improvement through a focus on planning, implementing, and reporting informatics, data, and related projects. Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity). Qualifications Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Science in a health-related field required. Master’s Degree preferred Minimum Experience: Knowledge/skill/experience in computer technology is required. Experience and/or training in principals of infection surveillance/prevention/control is preferred. One to two (1-2) years’ experience in Infection Control setting preferred. Required Certification/Registration: EPI (Education for the Prevention of Infection) training courses towards achievement of CIC (Certification in Infection Control) within 3 years of hire or transfer into position. Physical Requirements: Travel to multiple facilities is required. Working Conditions: Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well-lighted, heated or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards. For Remote and Hybrid Remote positions: If deemed operationally necessary, position may be required to report in and work on-site. Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking.
