Informatics Manager

Position Summary: The Informatics Manager administers the clinical information systems to coordinate and manage data used by teams caring for patients in a healthcare setting. Job Details: Installs and configures clinical information systems to maintain patient data. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Provide end user support and training. Collaborate with clinical staff to provide technical solutions. The major responsibilities of this position include the following duties, but are not limited to: Project Management: • Create project plans managing the scope, schedule on informatics-related projects. • Monitor issues, risks, and follow up documentation related to project implementations. • Assumes responsibility and demonstrates initiative; Works collaboratively and constructively with team members, able to balance multiple projects with moderate complexity. Training: • Develops and implements training and onboarding plans as they relate to the EHR and other clinical information systems. • Develop a training curriculum to align with EHR clinical/ non-clinical workflows. • Provides coaching, training and consulting to end-users on all levels to develop and facilitate the learning of applications. • Conduct workflow gap analyses when necessary to improve processes in the EHR. • Re-training staff based on system upgrades and changes. Informatics Management: • Leads multidisciplinary teams in the implementation of new and improved workflows and processes in clinical applications such as CDSS, templates, order management, medication administration and/or interdisciplinary clinical documentation. • Work with Information Technology (IT) as appropriate in resolving EHR issues/ticket requests. • Coordinate with IT in scheduling EHR software updates, upgrades, and implementations. • Communicate escalated EHR issues to appropriate leadership as necessary. • Oversee the ongoing maintenance of the EHR functionalities and system enhancements. • Monitor end-user compliance in the EHR system working with leadership to ensure security access role definitions of staff are current. • Provide support to users in the development of templates and routine system customization. • Works in conjunction with clinical departments to improve care gaps and quality reporting requirements. • Design current and future state workflow assessments of features or modules for the EHR or population health management systems. • Collaborate with leadership, practice management, IT, Data and other stakeholders to collect and analyze data to improve the quality of clinical care. • Maintain effective communication and relationship with Clinical leadership and IT operations to ensure applications are working as designed and that future implementation and upgrades are designed around clinical best practice and end user optimization. Staff Management: • Provide direction and supervision to EMR Support Specialist Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, human services, computer science, informatics or related field or equivalent work experiences in related field required • Advanced degree in healthcare informatics or human services related field referred. • 3-5 years’ experience with an electronic health record required. eClinicalWorks strongly preferred. • Strong computer Microsoft Office skills, applications including Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio required • Knowledge of industry standard code sets such as ICD-10/CPT and medical terminology. • Knowledge of process improvement and workflow design. • Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills required. • Excellent time management and organizational skills. • Ability to work on weekend and late night as needed. • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. • Ability to stand, walk or sit for an extended period. • Ability to hear within normal range. • Strong verbal, walk or sit for an extended period. • Ability to see within normal range. • Extended period time at a computer. • Noise level is moderate.
