At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As an Information Assurance/Security Specialist III in San Antonio, TX, you will be trusted to work with a variety of different technologies. You will be responsible for the management and security for the JBSA Sites and supported networks.

HOW AN INFORMATION ASSURANCE/SECURITY SPECIALIST III WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Specialized in the analysis or application of system security practices within an organization/agency.  Assists the system owner and Information System Security Officer (ISSO) in varies aspects in designing, developing and writing certification and accreditation (C&A) documentation packages included in the process of helping an organization/agency obtain an Authority to Operate (ATO) on its systems and/or environment.  Follows National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and/or Department of Defense IA Certification and Accreditation Process standards in performance of job functions. Assists with implementation of countermeasures or mitigating controls. Conducts regular audits to ensure that systems are being operated securely, and information systems security policies and procedures are being implemented as defined in security plans. Safeguards the network against unauthorized infiltration, modification, destruction or disclosure. Responds to queries and requests for computer security information and reports. Conducts investigations of computer security violations and incidents, reporting as necessary to management. Supports the performance of periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments to determine compliance. Provides information assurance project management and development of mission-critical security-related technical documents. Provides guidance and leadership to less-experienced team members. Maintain 100% compliance with DoD, NIST RMF and other security policies. Ensure compliance with security policies, regulations and privacy laws. 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of equivalent experienceExperience: 6+ years of progressive experience in information systems security in a DoD environment Certifications: IAT III and/or IAM III certifications as approved by customerCE certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)Technical skills: Demonstrated experience consulting with internal and external customers to understand business and technical needs, and make recommendations as needed Proficiency with MS Office products (E.g., Word, PowerPoint, Access) Security clearance: Must be able to obtain a Position of Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprintingLocation: On Customer SiteTravel: Some local travel may be requiredWeekly Scheduled Hours: 40Work visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

The likely salary range for this position is $100,300 - $135,700. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
