Information Coordinator - Behavioral Health Network

EO/AA_ This position is responsible for overseeing the collection, compilation, and input of data, as well as analyzing and summarizing data, preparing reports, and making recommendations to administrators based on analysis of data. **Department Overview:** The Huntsman Mental Health Institute Behavioral Health Network offers comprehensive mental health benefits to employees and their dependents at the University of Utah and University of Utah Health. They facilitate access to mental health resources through a robust network of over 600 practitioners and 25+ facilities across Utah. This coordinator role will work with reports/claims data, assist with appeals and grievances, and ideally requires experience with health plans and claims. Additionally, the coordinator will support and collaborate closely with the provider relations specialist with provider/facility inquiries, update the provider database. **Corporate Overview:** The University of Utah is a Level 1 Trauma Center and is nationally ranked and recognized for our academic research, quality standards and overall patient experience. Our five hospitals and eleven clinics provide excellence in our comprehensive services, medical advancement, and overall patient outcomes. **Responsibilities** + Provides administrative, credentialing, contracting and logistical support. + Ability to effectively convey information and collaborate with providers, billing staff, internal health plan staff, health plan management, governmental agency personnel, and/or other applicable customers as assigned. + Experience with health insurance claims and Epic Tapestry. + Intermediate skills in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint. + May assist with medical discount program appeals, open negotiations and grievances. + Provides support to upper level department management by scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings and conferences, as necessary. + Provides documents and reports to administrators, and outside agencies as required. + Handles special projects and creates special reports, as needed. + May train or provide orientation to staff. + Oversees the collection and organization of data that is entered into the databases. + Ensures the accuracy of data, analyzes conflicting data, and verifies and collects missing information. + Utilizes computer programs and software to analyze data, to determine trends and changes in data. + Develops and presents recommendations for a course of action based on the analysis of data. + May handle escalated concerns or tasks that require an in-depth understanding of departmental and organizational processes. **Knowledge / Skills / Abilities** + Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills. + Demonstrated organizational skills. + Demonstrated analytical skills. + Demonstrated presentation skills. + Experience and knowledge regarding insurance plans, medical coding, auditing, and contract compliance. + Ability to effectively convey information and collaborate with internal and external customers including staff, health plan management, governmental agency personnel, provider panel program and/or other applicable customers as assigned. **Qualifications** **Qualifications** **Required** + Associate's degree in a related field, or equivalency. + Two years experience in collecting, organizing, analyzing, and presenting data. **Preferred** + Bachelor's degree in a health or business-related discipline, or equivalency + prior experience with health insurance claims and Epic Tapestry, specifically. **Qualifications (Preferred)** **Working Conditions and Physical Demands** _Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation._ + This is a sedentary position in an office setting that may exert up to 10 pounds and may lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
