**What is it that we do at Colonial Pipeline Company?**
Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.S. military through a pipeline system. Colonial transports approximately 45 percent of all fuel consumed on the East Coast, providing refined products to more than 50 million Americans.
**About the Information Governance Manager Position**
As the Information Governance Manager you are responsible for designing, implementing, and enforcing enterprise-wide information governance policies, standards, and processes. You will also serve as also a key architect for process improvements related to information governance efforts at Colonial. In this role, you will need a thorough understanding of data and information management, including the management of electronic and physical records, information technology and systems, data protection and the legal and regulatory requirements related to information (including privacy).
**What You Get to Do:**
+ Partner with the Associate General Counsel – Governance to prioritize initiatives and enhancements to improve records management, data protection, privacy, and overall information governance capabilities
+ Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand the scope of information and data management needs, identify, and mitigate risks associated with information assets and recommend improvements to information governance programs.
+ Support the selection, implementation and management of information governance tools and technologies and provide operational support for projects relating to company data.
+ Review and revise record retention policies and retention schedules to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and work collaboratively across the organization to create and implement strategies for management of both paper and electronic records.
+ Maintain a current understanding of federal, state, and local document retention and disposal guidelines and communicate to stakeholders the requirements relating to document retention and destruction.
+ Monitor and audit compliance across the organization with records management policies, document retention schedules and other legal accountability requirements.
+ Identify the need for, assist in developing and deliver training to business stakeholders on information governance legal requirements and company policies and processes.
+ Manage document storage processes to ensure proper retention and retrievability of physical records, coordinate review of files stored in company-approved off-site repositories and implement digitization program for stored records.
+ Coordinate with litigation counsel on e-discovery and legal hold issues as necessary.
+ Manage supplier relationships relating to records management vendors.
**What You Bring to the Table:**
+ Bachelor's degree in a related field of study; will consider a combination of experience and/or education.
+ Ideally, 8+ years in Information Management/Governance, including areas related to privacy, information management technology and data protection.
+ Demonstrated experience designing, managing, and implementing records management programs.
+ Familiarity with technical concepts relevant to cloud computing environments.
+ Ability to influence compliance with information governance policies and programs.
