Information Security Analyst

Short Description for Internal Candidates             

Fortinet is looking for an Information Security Analyst as a member of the SOC Team in the Burnaby, BC office.

Job Duties:

Collaborate effectively to detect and respond to alerts, and actively engage in security investigations Conduct monitoring, research, classification, and analysis of security events. Possess good knowledge of OSINT tools to evaluate IOCs. Proactively monitor and respond across multiple customer environments, delivering thorough analysis and investigation of significant events. Foster communication and cooperation with customers throughout the progression of escalated security events and investigations. Contribute to the development, writing, and quality control of standard operating procedures and playbooks. Work closely with Product, Engineering, and QA teams to debug Fortinet products used in the SOC. Generate reports using PostgreSQL for SOC triage, threat hunting, and other purposes. Aid in the development of automation and SOAR playbook.
 

Required Technical Skills & Experiences:

Possess 3 years of experience in a Security Operations Center. Have 3 years of experience across various security disciplines (log analysis, packet analysis, etc.), with knowledge of security products and technologies. Experience with Fortinet products is advantageous. Demonstrate familiarity and experience with the Cyber Kill Chain and the MITRE ATT&CK Framework. Preferably have experience working within one or more SOAR platforms. Understand Cybersecurity Frameworks, Incident response lifecycle, and compliance requirements. Understand network concepts, common protocols, and services. Security+, CEH, SANS certification is desirable.

 

The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $70,000 - $91,000 annually.  Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level.  Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
