About the role: The Security Engineer assists with the development, management, and support of the organization’s on-prem and public cloud (Azure) information security strategy. This person will collaborate closely with infrastructure, application, DevOps, and other teams to achieve organizational goals, while promoting and maintaining strong adherence to, and enforcement of, security policies and best practices.
Essential Functions:
Design, manage, support, and implement on-prem and cloud security policies, services, systems, and projects. Support EDR (Endpoint Detection & Response), web security, email security, WAF, SSPM, and CASB tools for on-prem and cloud hosted systems. Support vulnerability scanner technology and remediation efforts. Daily monitoring and support of security ticket queue. Research new technology and assist in proof-of-concept testing. Review and provide security feedback on design changes for new and existing technologies. Document security standards and processes. Familiarity with industry standards such as PCI-DSS, NIST, and CIS. Assist educating coworkers on security topics through training and awareness opportunities.Job Requirements:
High Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred CCSP, CISSP, GCSA, OCSP, CEH, Security+, or other security related certifications preferred AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals certification (or capability to acquire within 6 months of start date) 4+ years of experience in IT (information technology), preferentially with development, network, or systems administration experience. 2+ years of experience in information security 1+ years of experience supporting information security in Microsoft Azure Experience and understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, and PCI preferredPreferred Experience:
Critical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems. Deep comprehension of troubleshooting methodologies and tools and how to use them for problem resolution. Intermediate knowledge of Azure and related security concepts with technologies such as Microsoft Entra ID, AKS, blob storage, etc. Clear and effective written and verbal communication, with the ability to tailor messaging for differing audiences. Proficient with email firewall, web filtering, EDR, and vulnerability scanner technologies. While a number of factors influence salary, our estimated California, Colorado, Washington, and New York compensation is $84,000 - $98,000.
