This position is a security-focused member of USU Information Technology’s uniquely combined team of systems and security professionals. The Enterprise Systems and Security Engineering team is responsible for architecting and securing USU’s most important and relevant technology services.

Responsibilities Lead web application and application security efforts supporting secure development practicesCoordinate remediation efforts in collaboration with development teams and departmentsMonitor and respond to system, network, and application log eventsParticipate in regular vulnerability assessmentsProvide security related advice, feedback, and trainingCreate and maintain documentationParticipate in incident response teamsStay abreast of security landscapeAudit and assess internal and 3rd party systems and applicationsDesign, implement, and maintain security systemsOther duties as assigned QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
The position will be hired at either level I through III based on these qualifications:Level I: Bachelor's degree* in an IT-related field or an equivalent** combination of education plus experience is required.Level II: Bachelor's degree* plus 2 years of experience in an IT-related field or an equivalent** combination of experience plus education is required; holds appropriate certifications and/or demonstrates equivalent knowledge in area of expertise.Level III: Bachelor's degree* plus 4 years of experience in an IT-related field or an equivalent** combination of education plus experience is required; holds appropriate certifications and/or demonstrates equivalent knowledge in area of expertise.
*Bachelor's degree must be in an IT-related field from an accredited 4-year institution.
