Job Description
Apply current systems security engineering methods, practices, and technologies to the architecture, design, development, evaluation, and integration of systems to maintain system security. Develop, implement, and enforce information systems security policies ensuring system security requirements are addressed during all phases of the acquisition and Information System (IS) lifecycle. Evaluate proposed security architectures and designs and provide input as to the adequacy of those security designs to meet required security compliance objectives. Contribute to the security planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, assessment & authorization activities for a large complex software intensive system. Support the Government to resolve conflicting system security engineering requirements. The Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) will be responsible for taking information from the vendor and updating it in EMASS.
ResponsibilitiesApply current systems security engineering methods, practices, and technologies to the architecture, design, development, evaluation, and integration of systems.Review and understand living documents, how to address scans, and update the plan of actions/milestones (POAM).Develop, implement, and enforce information systems security policies.Ensure system security requirements are addressed during all phases of the acquisition and Information System (IS) lifecycle.Evaluate proposed security architectures and designs for compliance with required security objectives.Contribute to security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management activities.Support the Government in resolving conflicting system security engineering requirements.Update EMASS with information from vendors.Essential Skills10+ years of cybersecurity experience as an Engineer.Experience with RMF (Risk Management Framework).Experience with ATO (Authority to Operate).Proficient in using eMASS (Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service).Strong background in cybersecurity.Active TS clearance with favorable eligibility for an SCI.Ability to obtain SCI clearance.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a related field.Experience with DoD5000.Work Environment
This position will be based in an office building a couple of miles off-base at APG in Aberdeen, with a SCIF in Hanover. The role offers a hybrid remote schedule of 2 days remote per week, with occasional on-site meetings at the base and travel to different sites including NOVA, South, and Midwest. The role supports the Electronic Warfare and Cyber (EW&C) Program. The work environment includes full benefits, 3-4 weeks of vacation accrual, 10 paid holidays, and a possibility of sign-on bonuses.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72.11 - $97.00
