CNIC Regional Offices enable improving operational performance and cost reductions through business process definition, analysis, and development of technical capabilities which automate process or improve transparency for analytics and decision making. 

 

The CNIC N6 ISSE is tasked supporting the authorization of systems through the RMF process to obtain an Interim Authority to Operate (IATO) or an Authority to Operate (ATO). 

 

In this role, you will:

Support the categorization of the Information System (IS) to be accredited through the RMF process and support the development of the System Security Plan (SSP)Support the determination and selection of required/applicable security and/or inherited controls and Common Control Identification (CCI) for the IS, Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), and document all required and/or applicable controls, STIGs, and CCI in the SSPSupport the development of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) or Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for external systems the IS may depend onDevelop and implement an Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) plan/strategy to continuously monitor security control effectivenessSupport the implementation of required and or applicable security controls specified in the SSP to the IS and its environment of operationSupport the development, review and approval of Security Assessment Plan (SAP) and the System Assessment Report (SAR)Implement, maintain and upgrade the approved IS security scanning tool such as ACAS and perform periodic security scansSupport the development of the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) based on the findings and recommendations of the SAR to include any remediation actions taken.Support the development and update of the Security Authorization Package (SAP), which include all artifacts such as SSP, SAR, POA&M, RAR and ISCM strategy/planMonitor security controls by performing periodic assessment of the IS’ security controls, and develop the periodic ISCM report and conducting remediation actions based on the results of ongoing monitoring of activitiesMaintain portal accounts needed in the RMF process such as EMAS accounts and acquire and maintain DADMs and DITPR-DON access accounts.Perform regular patching or upgrade of all required security scanning toolsContinuously check all currently used AV/VTC and network infrastructure systems vendor supportability status, particularly End Of Life (EOL) and End of Support (EOS), and provide the necessary recommendations on how to minimize or avoid any EOL or EOS issuesMaintain licenses, warranties, and maintenance support and provide advanced notification when licenses, warranties, and or maintenance support are about to expireConfigure systems to meet cybersecurity and network requirements and acquire and maintain the needed accounts to download latest versions of operating system, firmware or applications needed to perform security scans

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

An up to date DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II baseline certificationAn active DoD Top Secret security clearanceA high school diploma or GED with at least 4+ years' relevant experienceKnowledge and experience in an Information Technology or Cybersecurity environment supporting the Department of DefenseAbility to travel up to 10% of the time as needed

Additional desired experience and skills:

IAM Level III certificationBachelors degree or higher in related discipline
