What You Will Do:
Guidehouse is seeking an Information System Security Officer who will be responsible for providing systems security support and IT project management for an information system for our federal client. As part of a Project Management Office (PMO), the Information Systems Security Officer is responsible for coordinating with multiple stakeholders to lead the SA&A process, working closely with the government ISSO, to help achieve and maintain ATO certification of information systems. Additionally, support the technical and functional teams during the migration to a multi-factor authentication solution.
Responsibilities include some or all of the following:
Reviewing and update SA&A ATO package, policy, and procedure documents and, related artifacts in accordance with applicable standards and regulationsPreparing and updating security documentation, and, working with the technical team (developers, system administrator), support the creation and maintenance of technical documentationPerforming rigorous assessments of IT controls using industry-standard guidance and leading practicesPerforming walkthrough interviews and maintaining communication with a variety of client stakeholders, including system personnel such as system and database administratorsRequesting, obtaining, reviewing, and analyzing a variety of artifacts to assist in executing IT controls testing such as security plans, SOPs, system screenshots, and system configuration settingsEvaluating the design and operating effectiveness of IT controls using provided artifacts, industry-standard guidance, leading practices, and professional judgementTesting and documenting the results of IT controls test work in a consistent and high-quality mannerSummarizing and communicating IT controls assessment results to a variety of client stakeholders, including senior leadership personnelPlanning and executing day-to-day activities of IT controls assessmentsWorking with client personnel to understand and analyze known IT control weaknesses, identify root causes, and develop detailed, robust remediation plansProviding subject matter expertise to client personnel on all matters relating to IT controls and responding to ad-hoc IT controls requests from client personnelFacilitate resolution of POA&M items and review various vulnerability scan reports

Master’s degree preferredExperience as Information System Security Officer preferredFIVE (5) or more years of experience with cybersecurity technologies and/or Information Assurance in the federal spaceExtensive experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and NIST 800-37 Rev 5Experience creating and updating Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A) artifacts such as Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA), FIPS 199, Contingency Plans (CP), Contingency Plan Tests (CPT), and System Security Plans (SSP).Understanding of other security frameworks like FedRAMP, HIPAA, and ISO 2700x.Individual should demonstrate knowledge and experience in IT risk and controls through IT audits, IT control assessments, and IT security reviews. It is desired that individual maintains a relevant certification such as the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or is eligible to attain certification.Individual should demonstrate a working knowledge of FISMA, NIST SP 800 series, FISCAM, and other relevant Federal information assurance laws, regulations, and guidance. Experience performing FISMA, or similar internal control assessments and remediating and implementing IT controls is beneficial.Understanding of Zero Trust, Cyber Mandates and emerging technology such Artificial Intelligence (AI)Working knowledge of client Governance Risk & Compliance (GRC) tools such as Archangel, CSAM, etc.At least one of the following certifications: Security +, CISSP, SSCP, CISMUnderstanding and knowledge of federal information security and assurance laws, requirements, and guidance (i.e. FISMA, NIST SP 800, FISCAM)Demonstrated ability to facilitate the System Assessment and Authorization (SA&A) process to achieve/maintain ATO certification – coordinating with the ISSO, authorizing officials, engineers, system administrators, and product ownersDemonstrated experience facilitating meetings, interfacing with stakeholders, and creating, analyzing, and/or updating system security documentation to support A&A requirementsDemonstrated ability to multi-task and adapt to changing environments.Demonstrated ability to offer front-line support and serve as liaison between client management and associated stakeholders for all authorization and information security related issues.Demonstrated ability to use effective facilitation and presentation skills and techniquesDemonstrated ability to offer solutions and convey the business impact to clients in a clear and concise mannerDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointThe annual salary range for this position is $109,100.00-$163,700.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
