DISCOVER THE OPPORTUNITY TO The trainee position will complete one (1) of two (2) training tracks based on interest and agency need. Financial Developer Track: + Provide technical and application development support for the Core-CT FIN system, including support for the functional support team, agency users, and partners; + Develop a solid understanding of existing PeopleSoft FIN modules and their associated batch processes; + Gain technical knowledge in critical batch applications, including their functions, dependencies, and sequencing within the system; + Build proficiency in Oracle PeopleSoft PeopleTools, including Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine and DataMover; + Develop deep understanding of FIN databases tables, data structures, and table relationships to support data management and troubleshooting; + Write and optimize SQL queries for data analysis, extraction, and updates; + Modify application code and tables as needed to support system enhancements and issue resolution; PeopleSoft Admin Track: + Support the state’s Enterprise Resource Planning system by performing PeopleSoft administration functions; + Perform command-line scripting, system configuration, and troubleshooting for cloud-based Web and Application server infrastructure on both Linux- and Windows-based platforms; + Work with relational database technologies including Oracle Weblogic, Java, and Oracle database client connectivity; + Manage the setup and configuration of development, test, and production environments used to support Dev-Ops activities; + Oversee the Phire application source code management tool and assist application developers with code management, Oracle Database components, PeopleSoft application security and deployment tasks; The position will also: + Assist with adjusting production schedules for Core-CT PeopleSoft applications and ensure proper documentation of all changes; + Monitor batch applications, identify issues, analyze root causes, and coordinate resolutions with senior FIN developers; + Assist with PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) updates, including performing retrofits and troubleshooting testing-related issues; + Collaborate with Database Administrators (DBAs) to monitor and optimize application performance; + Develop issue resolution skills, assist with troubleshooting, and contribute to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for system support; + Work with business partners and agencies to define requirements and establish new system interfaces as needed; + Monitor data exchanges and system interfaces, review log files, identify issues, and coordinate resolutions with senior development staff.
