Presbyterian Homes & Services - Corporate IT is seeking an Information Technology Intern for its team for a summer internship.
This position is a temporary position based on project volume with an anticipation of working up to 40 hours per week while on assignment.
The term of the internship will be approximately 3 months.
ResponsibilitiesThe IT Intern is responsible for completing their assigned duties to establish practical learning experience for complement of their academic training. The IT Intern partners with the entire IT team as well as individuals at assigned PHS communities. In addition, the IT Intern will partner with Presbyterian Homes Support Services to complete specific assignments for additional complement of their academic training.
The purpose of this internship is to provide a working foundation in the field of Information Technology, providing working knowledge of how Information Technology interacts with the Business and to assist the IT Team in supporting the rest of the PHS business specific to our Mobility and Networking functions.
The position will primarily assist the Desktop Team with deploying PC's for ongoing projects. This will include unpackaging, configuring, testing and placement of equipment at various PHS communities. The position may include trouble-shooting day-to-day problems. There will be travel, primarily in the Twin Cities metro area but may include trips into Iowa and Wisconsin. The position may include other network tasks Operations Team, when the primary project completes.
Qualifications In process of obtaining technical degree or comparable IT work experienceProficient knowledge of computer systems, desktop operating systems and trends in technology.Specific knowledge/experience with PC technology:Windows 11softwareGeneral technical understanding of one or more of the following:Hardware support for Desktops; Displays; PrintersImplementation of Technical SolutionsWindows and iOS Operating SystemsSelf-starter with interest in researching industry trendsAttention to detail and ability to solve problems quickly and see them through until completion.Demonstrated ability to complete projects. Ability to Independently manage and prioritize workload.Excellent customer interaction and communications skills.Ability to work with customers and colleagues in a professional manner during stressful situations.Valid Driver’s License and ability to transport self between PHS communities.Ability to maintain job performance and efficiency while remaining in compliance with policies and established procedures.Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers. Pay Range The estimated starting pay range for this role is $16.00 - $18.00 per hour. This good faith estimate is based upon PHS’s typical starting pay range for this role. Actual pay range depends on many factors including each individual employee’s qualifications and market conditions and is subject to change.
