INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN)
Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer. Responsibilities You will provide technical guidance in the design, coding, testing, and debugging process. You will monitor and evaluate systems' compliance with IT security requirements, and provide advice and guidance in implementing IT security policies and procedures in the development and operation of network systems. You will deploy virtual machines and physical servers, install operating systems, and configure services as needed. You will use servers to test services and collaborate on resolving server-related tickets with end-users. You will manage core storage infrastructure (including but not limited to: NetApp, EqualLogic) for all NPS Enterprise resources (including but not limited to: Aggregates, Qtrees, Volumes, groups, LUNs). You will design, configure, and maintain enterprise database availability in a high availability mode at the server, network, and storage levels to ensure system uptime of enterprise. You will prepare and execute, as appropriate, procedures and PowerShell scripts to restore enterprise system production databases: repair, restore, and integrity checks. You will design, implement, configure, and maintain logical and physical high availability solution of Storage Area Network (SAN) for the enterprise system of NPS. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviewing IT programs to assess overall compliance with IT plans, policies, and alignment with business requirements; 2) Planning and implementing CAT I's, CAT II's, and CAT III's fixes/mitigations from DISA's Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), DoD Retina Vulnerabilities, and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) to secure NPS enterprise information systems including but not limited to: Windows DNS, Active Directory, Domain Controllers, DHCP, Windows Server 2012, and Windows Server 2012 and above; 3) Participating in the planning and delivery of a full range of customer support services to the organization; 4) Installing and maintaining software and hardware, controlling current versions and future releases of applications software, and documenting the physical configuration of an information system. NOTE: All experience must be fully demonstrated in your resume to be considered for the position. Education Additional Information This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
