Responsibilities You will serve as an expert under the oversight of the lead IT specialist or engineer, assisting and ensuring IT requirements are met. You will perform needs analyses to define opportunities for new or improved business process solutions. You will consult with customers to identify and specify requirements as well as defining system scope and objectives. You will manage or assist in managing complex projects to support the implementation and acquisition of a variety of IT systems, products and/or services for the Marine Corps/DON/DoD. You will provide support and environments for all levels of testing, including acceptance, beta, unit, and quality assurance. You will formulate, recommend, and implement configuration policies and procedures related to your project(s). Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing Information Technology projects; designing, developing installing, OR implementing databases; AND developing OR administering data standards, policies, and procedures. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information The following Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities are desired but not required: Experience applying systems engineering processes to combat systems in support of Department of Defense acquisition programs. This includes leading and/or participating in systems engineering technical reviews. Experience working as part of an Integrated Product Team and coordinating with external stakeholders, especially requirements organizations and operational end users. Experience in combat systems integration in one or more of the following technical areas: combat system architectures command and control systems weapon systems tactical data links platform integration radars or other sensors This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. Relocation incentives as described in 5 USC 5743 may be authorized in accordance with applicable regulations. PCS is not authorized.
