Summary You will serve as an IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS/APPSW) in the Publishing and Logistics Managment Branch of HQ US MARINE CORPS. Responsibilities You will ensure that systems are consistent with technological advances and or changes in futures program requirements and within the general limits set by long range system plans. You will provide the technical support required to maintain system operations. You will plan, coordinate, modify, implement and troubleshoot system requirements for conversion of records. You will operate a variety of automated commercially available software. You will apply knowledge of automated information systems, database design and integration. You will analyze and evaluate new software proposals, trends and concepts. You will maintain required programs to support user needs. You will continually analyze requirements and recommend solutions for the implementation of new projects to automate work processes. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1.Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Devising comprehensive test to allow periodic verification of hardware/software operating limits and user options. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Working with clients and customers to resolve problems and satisfy expectations. 3.Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Analyzing requirements and recommending solutions for the implementation of new projects to automate work processes. 4.Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
