Install enhancements and perform updates to the hardware and software of existing systems, including middleware and application programs that run on the system. Evaluate performance and make modifications to enhance functionality. Debug problems with system software. Perform maintenance tasks to keep systems running smoothly. Write and update test procedures and programs. Requires basic skill set and proficiency. Conducts work assignments as directed. Closely supervised with little latitude for independent judgment. Comprehensive University Benefit Plan: * Immediate 14.2% University contribution to 401k retirement plan. * Health and dental insurance options available. * 50% tuition benefit after 6 months of employment. **Responsibilities** * Support the management of the department’s Housing Management Software (StarRez, Atrium) through application design and build-outs, report generation, SQL coding, meal plan management, integration with campus systems, and overall utilization. * Provide support for forms and processes within StarRez for processes such as room changes, billing, meal plan selection, and cancellations. * Test software prior to application launch dates. * Explore, recommend, and implement new modules and housing software solutions to improve the overall student experience, create efficiencies, and maximize departmental revenue. * Troubleshoot staff and user-facing issues within StarRez and Atrium by providing excellent customer service and problem solving. * Provide support to the occupancy team during peak application times in order to maximize occupancy. * Housing Report Development and Maintenance * Design and launch reports for colleagues and administrators to inform decision-making, occupancy knowledge, and business processes. * Develop advanced data visualizations and housing reports to provide live and timely data about housing occupancy and application conversions. * Develop dashboards within the housing management software to support housing partners and colleagues with their daily tasks (example: room changes, cancellations, LLC selection, etc) * Provide regular training and consultation to staff on how to best utilize the StarRez Housing Management Software to fulfill their roles and responsibilities. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead. **Minimum Qualifications** Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalency or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within areas of specialty. **Preferred Qualifications:** * Bachelors degree in software engineering, business intelligence, computer science, data science, or related field. * Demonstrated skills in coding ( SQL ), process flow design, and ability to apply critical thinking skills in troubleshooting complex issues. * Demonstrated skills in building reports and using advanced visualization tools to display and interpret occupancy and departmental data. * Advanced skillset in using Excel and understanding formulas, pivot tables, and other tools for reporting and data management. * Ability to work with a variety of departmental areas to improve business processes and integrations. * Experience working with housing management software such as StarRez and Atrium. * Ability to communicate technical information in an easy to understand manner. **Preferences** **Type** Benefited Staff **Special Instructions Summary** **Additional Information** The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems (“URS”).
