Infrastructure Architect
Role Introduction

Reports to: Infrastructure and Security Architect Manager

The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for providing technical leadership to design and build fit-for-purpose, cost-effective and robust Infrastructure Technology Solutions to support the delivery of business and IT projects to meet business and non-functional requirements as well as to achieve the Enterprise Infrastructure strategy and roadmap.

Key Responsibilities
Lever key technical skills to deliver the IT infrastructure technical design to meet the business and non-functional requirements of business and IT projects and align with Infrastructure strategy, roadmap, standards and blueprints Obtain requirements signoff from both business and Information Management (IM) StakeholdersCommunicate the proposed design solutions to the stakeholders and help to guide decisions regarding tradeoffs that may impact the requirement or delivery timescales for infrastructure solutionsSocialize and secure the sign-off of the proposed infrastructure design from key stakeholdersProvide technical leadership and escalation support for the resolution of defects, incidents and problems during the testing, implementation and transition phases of the projectsProvide technical expertise and inputs to the definition of Infrastructure strategy, roadmap, standards and blueprintsLead analysis of the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.Coordinate and ensure consistency in process and content across infrastructure architectureParticipate in relevant solution design review activities in order to ensure alignment to infrastructure architecture, infrastructure strategies and architecture principlesSupport Solution Architects and technical members in identifying and assessing optionsUses appropriate processes and tools to create systems, or services, on a technical infrastructure which supports business demands, which are resilient, secure and highly availableInterface with other IT areas, sharing technical knowledge and expertise, and resolving issues as necessary, using specialist information to enable others to deliverConduct project technical reviews and health checksLead analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the infrastructure architectureParticipate and contribute to relevant industry, alliance and technology forumsProvides expert level support in technical specialization, ensuring prompt and accurate resolution of challengesShows initiative and makes time available to ensure general technical competencies and specializations are kept up-to-date in line with industry developments for self and teamCross-team collaboration with other IM domains to drive business and technology innovationKeep abreast of the corporate strategy, business plan and latest industry trendsRequirements
University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related disciplinesMinimum 8 years of IT experience with at least 5 years in infrastructure strategy and architecture designProven abilities to develop enterprise infrastructure (technology) architectureAbility to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organizationStrong communication skillsExcellent analytical and problem solving skillsExcellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiationAirline knowledge is advantageousTOGAF certification is preferred
